Traffic shift scheduled for Thursday on I-485 project in Charlotte

Motorists will drive on new section of Loganville Road

CHARLOTTE -Progress continues on the completion of the final 5.7-mile segment of the Charlotte Outer Loop in northeast Mecklenburg County, on pace to finish late next year. The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to shift traffic to a new segment of Loganville Road at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, completing another important piece of this project.

To safely transition to the new alignment, Prosperity Church Road will close between Prosperity Crossing and Highland Shoppes Drive. New traffic signals are also in place on Loganville Road at Prosperity Church Road and at Johnston-Oehler Road to help traffic move more efficiently.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
