Tenth Street to be temporarily closed for 100 days
RALEIGH -Motorists traveling on the U.S. 401 bridge over the Cape Fear River in Lillingtoncan expect lane closures beginning Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14.
The lane closures are necessary so crews can prepare to shift all traffic onto the northbound bridge into two lanes, with one lane in each direction, by Monday, April 15 for 100 days.
In addition, Tenth Street will be temporarily closed for 100 days, and motorists will need to use U.S. 421 as the signed detour.
Motorists traveling this area will need to use caution since there will be a new traffic pattern, as well as obey signs and the speed limit.
The work is necessary as part of the project to replace the U.S. 401 South bridge.
