RALEIGH - The North Carolina Turnpike Authority will begin mailing out Bill by Mail invoices the first week in August to first time users of the Triangle Expressway, which will have new billing cycles. These invoices will now include tolls accumulated over a 30-day billing cycle instead of a 15-day period.
By adjusting the billing cycle, NC Quick Pass will reduce the number of invoices being mailed out with a small bill.
"Changing the billing cycle for new drivers on the expressway will greatly reduce the number of small invoices that are sent, improving the overall customer experience on the Expressway," said State Representative Tom Murry.
Under the previous billing cycle, 14 percent of first time users on the Triangle Expressway received bills of less than $5.00.
"This change better aligns our billing process with the significant ridership increase this year and makes our entire operation more efficient, said John Breedlove, Director of Turnpike Operations for NCDOT. "The NC Quick Pass customer service center strives for a user friendly system and is continuing to monitor these processes to ensure better customer service."
Payment of an invoice can be made through the automated phone system at 877-7MY-PASS, https://www.myncquickpass.com/en/home/index.shtml, or mailed to the Customer Service Center using the detachable payment portion of the invoice. If the bill is not paid within 30 days from the date of the bill, it may escalate to include fees, civil penalties, DMV registration holds and/or submittal to a collection agency.
If an invoice is received in error, a toll dispute or sworn affidavit form may be submitted online at https://www.myncquickpass.com/en/about/forms.shtml or at the Customer Service Center. Forms must be submitted to the Customer Service Center within 30 days of the date of the invoice or the right to dispute the toll(s) is waived.
