UPDATE: Temporary Traffic Change for Stoney Creek Plantation and Snee Farm Residents

UPDATE: Work will not begin until Friday.RALEIGH - Installation of a pipe will require a temporary traffic pattern change for people trying to access parts of the Snee Farm and Stoney Creek Plantation neighborhoods off U.S. 17 near Leland in Brunswick County.Weather permitting, installation will begin Friday, April 12, to install a pipe under the U.S. 17 service road that runs between Zion Church Road and Hewitt-Burton Road. The specific area to be closed is the section of the access road between Sloan Road and Stoney Creek Lane. The section will be closed about four weeks. Motorists can access Stoney Creek Lane and Bridle Way via the new service road from Hewitt-Burton Road. Sloan Road and Snowfield Road can be reached by the newly constructed service road off U.S. 17 North across from Zion Church Road. Hewitt-Burton Road traffic only can turn right onto U.S. 17, so anyone needing to go southbound can make a U-turn at the next crossover. For real-time travel information at any time, call 511, visit www.ncdot.gov/travel or follow NCDOT on Twitter at www.ncdot.gov/travel/twitter.
