RALEIGH - The
N.C. Department of
Transportation will close the
U.S. 52 South ramp to U.S. 421 North/Business 40 West in Winston-Salem, starting
Sunday, March 17, at 9 p.m. for concrete repairs. The ramp will reopen to
traffic by 5 a.m. on Monday, March 18.
To avoid the closure, motorists should take the following
detour route: Follow U.S. 52 South to Exit 109A to access U.S. 421
South/Business 40 East. Then, exit immediately onto Exit 6B to access U.S. 52
North. Next, exit immediately onto Exit 109B and return to U.S. 421
North/Business 40 West.
NCDOT encourages motorists traveling around the work zone
to go slow, pay attention to construction-related signs and allow extra time to
reach their destinations safely.
