RALEIGH - On Monday, June 23, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of Canetuck Road in order for crews to replace the bridge over Buckle Creek in Currie. Canetuck Road is scheduled to reopen Oct. 20, weather permitting. The bridge, which was constructed in 1967, is classified as structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. This means the bridge is safe, but it needs to be replaced to meet current and future traffic demands.
Motorists should use N.C. 210, N.C. 11 and Still Bluff Road during the closure.
