Department of Transportation contractors will next week begin replacing the bridge on Ogden School Road over Abbotts Creek, south of Kernersville in Forsyth County.Beginning Monday, Dec. 15, crews will close a section of the road approximately one quarter mile from the intersection with Teague Lane. Motorists traveling through the area can use the detour route along Teague Lane, Watkins Ford Road and N.C. 66, and are advised to use caution in the area and allow additional travel time to reach their destinations safely.Construction should be completed and the road reopened by Friday, April 3, 2015This project is part of the department's overall bridge program to improve the condition of the state's bridges. The current bridge was built in 1958 and was deemed functionally obsolete. This bridge currently has weight restrictions posted.
