- Over the next few weeks, motorists in Winston-Salem may encounter intermittent lane closures and traffic shifts as a private developer widens Country Club Road at the intersection of Meadowlark Drive to serve a commercial development already under construction. To prepare for the widening, the developer must first install storm and sanitary drainage lines under Meadowlark Drive. The work will require the nighttime closure of Meadowlark Drive on Thursday, June 19 and Friday, June 20. The road will be closed each night from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning, and motorists will use Lewisville-Vienna Road as the signed detour route. The developer expects to begin widening Country Club Road the week of June 23. For the first few weeks, impacts to traffic are expected to be minimal. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution while traveling in the area.
