RALEIGH - Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will have intermittent lane closures in both directions of U.S. 401 over Swift Creek between Garner and Fuquay Varina beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19. The lane closures will be in place weekdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. through April 16, as crews grade the shoulders and replace guardrails. The installation of new guardrail across the bridges will make the existing concrete bridge rail safer for motorists.
The $174,048 contract was awarded to State Contracting, Inc. in January.
