Most Routes in Foothills Clear of Snow, Ice

Shelby -Interstates, primary and secondary roads are almost all clear in the foothills region, and most cleanup operations should be finished by tonight.

In Division 12, which includes Alexander, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell and Lincoln counties, afew icy patches remain on secondary roads that don't receive sunlight. NCDOT crews continued working on those trouble areas today. Interstates and primary roads are clear.

Although cleanup is ending for most of the region, motorists should still be on the lookout for NCDOT crews and their vehicles. Increase your following distance behind those vehicles and give them ample travel room.
