Proposals due by May 20, 2014
RALEIGH - To better provide driver license services to the northeastern coast of North Carolina, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is seeking proposals to establish a new driver license office in Dare County.
As part of its statewide effort to serve customers more effectively, the Division has determined that a brick-and-mortar location in Dare County will offer more reliable service than continuing the current mobile unit services, which are often unreliable and operate at the mercy of the weather. NCDMV also considers area population and growth, and distance to other nearby driver license offices in establishing office locations.
A proposal request is published on the State Property Office Website and describes the office requirements. The lease requires about 2,320 square feet of office space and will be for a five-year term with renewal options. Possession date for the space is Aug. 1, 2014 or as soon thereafter as possible. Proposals are due no later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
Additional information, specifications and proposal forms are available by contacting Bonnie Tripp Simmons at (919) 707-4549 or email@example.com.
Driver license offices administer sign tests, written tests and road tests to qualify applicants for a North Carolina driver license. They also issue North Carolina identification cards.
