The N.C. Department of Transportation
has awarded a $533,000 contract to TCB Builders, LLC of Lexington to replace the existing bridge on Bowman- Barrier Road over Dutch Buffalo Creek in Mount Pleasant.
Work can begin as early as June 12, with roadwork scheduled to be completed by Sept. 25. During construction, motorists will be detoured from Bowman-Barrier Road to Lambert Road to N.C. 73 back to Bowman-Barrier Road. Reforestation and vegetation establishment can continue through March 24, 2015.
This was one of 28 contracts worth $282.3 million recently awarded by NCDOT for highway, bridge and ferry projects across North Carolina. NCDOT awarded the contracts to the lowest bidders, as required by state law. The winning bids for the projects came in almost five percent, or $14.2 million, below NCDOT estimates.
