NCDOT Closes Both Lanes of I-40 West Due to Crane Accident in Forsyth County

WINSTON-SALEM - N.C. Department of Transportation crews have closed portion of I-40 West near Sandy Ridge Road after a crane tipped on its side in Winston-Salem.
IMAP crews on the scene say the crane began to tip over around 2 p.m. The operator and crews nearby were unharmed. The crane is currently on its side and once it is up-righted later this afternoon, one lane of traffic will be re-opened.
Traffic is being rerouted along a detour route at Exit 206 I-40 Business West/US-421 to Exit 6A, US-52 South.
