NCDOT Names Jeff Mann as Deputy Secretary for Transit - Will oversee Aviation, Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation, Ferry, Public Transportation and Rail divisions

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation today announced that Jeff Mann will be joining the NCDOT team as the new Deputy Secretary for Transit beginning Oct. 22. In that capacity he will be responsible for the non-highway transportation divisions of NCDOT; Rail, Aviation, Ferry, Bicycle & Pedestrian and Public Transportation. Mann currently serves as Senior Planning Manager for Transit and Rail with Parsons Brinckerhoff where he has been involved in numerous rail studies and transit planning for the City of Raleigh. He has worked closely with NCDOT in that role and has more than 18 years of experience as a freight and passenger rail planner. During his career Mann has played key roles in implementing rail and bus transit initiatives and brings a wealth of knowledge in operations, budget development, performance measurement, program management and governmental relations. "Jeff's background and leadership will be an important part of NCDOT's continued efforts to build and strengthen the multi-modal transportation network for all citizens envisioned by Governor McCrory's recently released 25-Year Vision for Transportation," said Secretary of Transportation Tony Tata.
