RALEIGH - A N.C. Department of Transportation project to improve two secondary
roads started this week in northern Davidson County.
The improvements are being made due to their current condition and in
anticipation of increased traffic volume because of their proximity to a
proposed high school near Oak Grove Middle school.
The project will widen Hoy Long
Road between Midway School Road and Clodfelter Road, and Concrete Works Road between Midway School Road
and Old Thomasville Road. The roads will be widened from 18 to 22 feet, and
have a tar and gravel surface put in place.
The project will take approximately three weeks to complete. Additional improvements will be made in 2015
when the roads are leveled and resurfaced with asphalt.
