CHARLOTTE -The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close Sandy Ridge Road over Little Richardson Creek southwest of Monroe at 8 a.m. Monday, July 14, weather permitting. The closure will allow crews to safely replace the existing bridge.
While the bridge is closed, motorists will be detoured from Sandy Ridge Road to Stack Road to Bruce Thomas Road back to Sandy Ridge Road.
The bridge should open to traffic by Friday, Oct. 17.
