Work is in conjunction with I-485 widening project
CHARLOTTE -The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to close Westinghouse Boulevard under I-485 in Charlotte from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, weather permitting. The work is part of the $83.3 million I-485 widening project to add one lane in each direction between I-77 and Rea Road.
During the closure, crews will be continuing bridgework operations, requiring a detour for traffic. Motorists will follow Westinghouse Boulevard to Nations Ford Road to Hebron Street to South Boulevard back to Westinghouse Boulevard. The closures are scheduled to continue from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 27.
