Closure is necessary for CSX railroad crossing improvements
CHARLOTTE - The N.C. Department of Transportation last night closed a section of Wesley Chapel Stouts Road near Rocky River Road in Monroe for emergency repairs at the CSX Railroad crossing.
Recent flooding has washed out part of the crossing, requiring an immediate closure for CSX crews to make necessary repairs. Weather permitting, the road will reopen Thursday morning, March 27.
During the closure, traffic will follow a signed detour from Wesley Chapel Stouts Road to U.S. 74 to Rocky River Road back to Old Monroe Road back to Wesley Chapel Stouts Road.
