NCDOT to Hold Public Meeting Regarding a Recent Study of the Department's Women- and Minority-Owned Business Enterprise Programs

RALEIGH - The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) recently completed a Disparity Study of its Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs. The department will hold public meetings in Charlotte and Raleigh to present the study's findings and recommendations, as well as receive input from the public.

Public meetings:

  • June 30, 2014 from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. at the NCDOT Highway Building Board Room, 1 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27601
  • July 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the NCDOT Transportation Management Center, 2327 Tipton Drive, Charlotte, NC 28206.

NCDOT hired Colette Holt & Associates to conduct the study to determine whether the department still has a compelling reason to continue an M/WBE program, and whether the contracting market is fair and equitable to all parties involved. People can also review and comment on the study here.
