SHELBY-- On Monday, Oct. 27, theN.C. Department of Transportationwill begin maintenance on a bridge on Alexis High Shoals Road over HoyleCreek in Gaston County.
Alexis High Shoals Roadwill be closed at the bridge Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.The closure is scheduledto remain in place for two weeks, but weather permitting, NCDOT crews could finish the maintenancemuch sooner.
Motorists traveling throughthe area are urged to seek an alternate route.
The bridge, built in 1951, is located near the intersection of Alexis High Shoals Road and Philadelphia Church Road.
