CHARLOTTE -The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to close N.C. 51 at I-485 in Pineville from midnight to 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, weather permitting. The work is part of the $83.3 million I-485 widening project to add one lane in each direction between I-77 and Rea Road.
During the closure, crews will be setting bridge girders over N.C. 51, requiring one lane to be closed on the I-485 Outer Loop. A signed detour will take motorists around the work zone along N.C. 51, Park Road and Carolina Place Parkway.
