North Carolina License and Theft Bureau Makes Arrest In Connection To Illegal Automobile Sales

RALEIGH - The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles' License and Theft Bureau arrested a Kannapolis man on Thursday, July 10, after a three-week undercover operation and search warrant revealed the ongoing operation of an unlicensed automobile dealership.

Earnest Washington Dixon, owner of Bargain Automotive at 3000 South Cannon Boulevard in Kannapolis, was arrested and charged with 13 felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. He was also charged with 13 misdemeanor counts of acting as a motor vehicle dealer without being licensed. Items seized during the search included titles, vehicle bills of sale, vehicle sales files, financial records and approximately $6,100.
