RALEIGH - Weather permitting, the N.C.
Department of Transportation will close South
Happy Hill Road in Davidson County on Wednesday, April 23 to replace a drainage
pipe under the roadway. South Happy Hill Road will remain closed for the duration of the work,
which is expected to be completed by Friday, May 9. A map of the work area can be seen here.Crews will construct a temporary, single-lane gravel road that will
serve as the detour around the work zone.
The temporary road will be short enough that motorists will be able to
see approaching traffic at all times.NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information,
