Pipe Repair Work Closes Section of Sedwick Road in Durham

RALEIGH - A drainage pipe failure under Sedwick Road will close the road for several weeks about 1,000 feet east of Grandale Drive in southern Durham County. The end of the pipe collapsed about a week ago, and that led to enough deterioration of the shoulder that it was determined it was not safe to leave the road open at the site.

Planning is under way for replacing the pipe, but the repair job is expected to take several weeks. In the meantime, a detour route will have motorists using Grandale Drive, Barbee Road, N.C. 54 and N.C. 55 to get around the closure.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for road closure and detour information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
