Resurfacing Work on Horner Boulevard in Lee County Begins June 22

Prep work on this 1.7-mile section begins Thursday

RALEIGH -Work begins Sunday, June 22, on an N.C. Department of Transportation project to resurface a section of Horner Boulevard (U.S. 421 Business/N.C. 42/N.C. 87) from just east of N.C. 78 to east of Fields Drive in Sanford, weather permitting.

Resurfacing will take place nightly from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. through the morning of Monday, June 30.

Preliminary work on this project begins tomorrow, Thursday, June 19, as crews adjust manholes, water valves and mill asphalt. This work requires narrowing or closing a lane and is scheduled to take place nightly from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. through Sunday, June 22.

This work is part of a $4 million project awarded to Riley Paving of Carthage and also includes resurfacing several sections of roadway in Chatham and Moore counties.
