RALEIGH - A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing Market Street/U.S. 70 Business from the Neuse River bridge to U.S. 301 in Smithfield beginning tonight, weather permitting.
Crews with Fred Smith Company will be paving nightly, between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m., weather permitting. Work scheduled to be complete by Friday, August 1.
Traffic on Market Street will be maintained at all times, however, motorists should expect delays due to lane closures and plan accordingly. Temporary detours may be in place for some side streets along the work zone.
