Routine Light Maintenance Begins Monday in Guilford County

RALEIGH - Over the next several weeks, motorists in Guilford County may encounter lane closures on I-40, I-73, U.S. 311 and U.S. 29 as the N.C. Department of Transportation performs routine maintenance on overhead roadway lights.The work will require lane and/or shoulder closures in various areas along these roadways. The intermittent closures may be in place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with the location of the closure changing as the maintenance work progresses. Weather permitting, the work will begin Monday, Jan. 6, on I-40 West near High Point Road in Greensboro. It will take crews approximately six weeks to complete the maintenance work at all locations.NCDOT reminds motorists to expect delays and use caution in the area.For real-time travel information at any time, call 511, visit www.ncdot.gov/travel or follow NCDOT on Twitter at www.ncdot.gov/travel/twitter.
