RALEIGH - A section of Gun Club Drive at the intersection of N.C. 211 in Pinehurst will close during the day tomorrow, Feb. 22 as N.C. Department of Transportation crews preform paving operations. A 100-foot section of Gun Club Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. until approximately 7 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists are urged to use extra caution in work zones to protect themselves, their passengers, other motorists and the construction crews. Drivers need to follow traffic and construction warning signs in work zones, watch out for flaggers and workers along the roadway and pay attention to the road conditions around them. This work is part of the N.C. 211 project to convert 7.6 miles of the highway to four lanes divided by a grass median from N.C. 73 in West End to the traffic circle in Pinehurst. Work on the project is expected to continue through May, and motorists can expect various lane shifts and closures to continue throughout the project area. Any questions regarding the project may be referred to Chuck Dumas, Resident Engineer or Jim Dietrich, Senior Assistant Resident Engineer at 910-944-7554.
