FAYETTEVILLE - Work on the I-295
Fayetteville Outer Loop will require the closure of the outbound (southbound)
lanes of All-American Freeway between Fort Bragg and Santa Fe Drive, starting
Monday, Nov. 3.
The closure is needed so crews can
safely replace the approaches for the bridge in the southbound lanes. They are
scheduled to re-open by Monday, Dec. 8.
Access INTO Fort Bragg via
All-American Freeway will remain open, but motorists leaving the post will need
to use alternate routes, including Bragg Boulevard, and the Yadkin, Reilly and
Chicken Road Access Control Points.
Motorists are reminded to pay
attention to road closure signs and obey the posted speed limit.
This Fayetteville Outer Loop will give
Fort Bragg a direct access route to I-95, and will help relieve congestion
around the post by connecting two major arteries between it and Fayetteville.
The first section of the Loop from I-95 to Ramsey Street opened to traffic in
2005. The section from Murchison Road to Bragg Boulevard (N.C. 24) opened this
past August. The section between Bragg Boulevard and All-American Freeway is
scheduled to be finished in August 2016, and the section between All-American
Freeway and Cliffdale Road is expected to be done in 2018.
