closed a section of U.S. 301 in Four Oaks this morning so crews can replace a culvert under both lanes of the road that has met its useful life. The road is scheduled to reopen to traffic Friday, April 11, weather permitting.U.S. 301 will be closed to through traffic between Temple Road and South Main Street with a detour in place. Southbound local traffic will be able to travel as far south as Church Street. Through traffic will use Temple Road, Parker Road and South Main Street to travel around the construction site.Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling in the area and to expect delays. NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
