CHARLOTTE -On Sunday, June 7, the N.C. Department of Transportation is scheduled to beginaresurfacing project on I-485 from Rea Road to U.S. 74. The pavement rehabilitation workwill provide motorists with a smoother ride along that section of Charlotte'sOuter Loop. To lessenimpacts to motorists, project contractor Blythe Construction will work on the resurfacing from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day, weather permitting. During this time, lane closures could be in place. The project completion date is Oct. 16, 2015. Crews will begin work on I-485 Outer at Rea Road, and continue to U.S. 74. Then, crews will progress toI-485 Inner. The cost of the project is $6,146,997.
