WINSTON-SALEM -N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of U.S. 421 North for contract work on the Williams Road Bridge in Lewisville.
Starting tonight at 9 p.m. crews will be moving large equipment for work on a rehabilitation project that will allow for more vertical clearance on the Williams Road bridge. Work will be done nightly over the next two evenings starting at 9 p.m. and is expected to conclude by Thursday, March 26 at 6 a.m.
Motorists traveling through the area will use the signed detour route at the Williams Road Exit 244, continue up the ramp and around the traffic circle.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
