CHARLOTTE-OnMonday, July 13, the N.C. Department of Transportation will reduce aportion of Glenway Avenueto a single lane, one-way traffic pattern for approximately 40 days for grading and wall construction. This work is part of continued progress on the Interstate 40/77 interchange improvement project.
This section of Glenway Avenue will be closed just east of the Tractor Supply/K&W Restaurant back entrance to a point just south of the Doosan Plant entrance.Theclosure will allow the contractor to complete the necessary wall construction that will finishroadway widening for this portion of Glenway Avenue.
Traffic will have continuous southwest access on Glenway Avenue coming out of the Doosan Plant, but will use U.S.21 to James Farm Road to gain access into the Doosan Plant each day while the lane closure is in place.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
