NCDOT to Hold Public Meeting Jan. 29 About Proposed Improvements to N.C. 225 in Hendersonville

SHELBY--TheN.C. Department of Transportationwill hold a public meeting on Thursday, Jan.29,regarding the proposed project to improveN.C. 225 (Greenville Highway) at its intersections with Erkwood DriveandShepherd Streetin Hendersonville.

The purpose of the project is to improve the existing roadway network and to realign Erkwood Driveand Shepherd Streetto create a four-leg intersection with N.C. 225 (Greenville Highway). In doing this, a more direct east-west connection will be formed for the area south of Hendersonville.

The meeting will be heldat the Village ofFlat Rock Village Hall, located at 110 Village Center Drive, from 4-7 p.m. Interested citizens may attend at any time during the meeting hours, as there will be no formal presentation. NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. Citizens will also have the opportunity to submit comments and questions in writing. Comments received will be taken into consideration as the project develops.

The public can view a map displaying the location and design concept for the projectonline, as well as at the NCDOT District Engineer's office located at 4142 Haywood Road, Mills River.
