CHARLOTTE The N.C. Department of Transportationwill hold a public meeting regarding the proposed noise walls for the I-77 Express Lanes project in Iredell and Mecklenburg counties.
The purpose of the noise walls is to reduce traffic noise for impacted residents.
The meeting will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the following locations:
- Nov. 17 at the Metrolina Regional Transportation Management Center, 2327 Tipton Dr., Charlotte; and
- Nov. 19 at Assembly Room, Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., Cornelius.
Interested citizens may attend at any time during the above hours, but there will be a short formal presentation at 6 p.m. which willbe repeated at 7 p.m.
NCDOT plans to re-ballot citizens benefited by the proposed noise walls. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and answer questions regarding the proposed noise walls and the voting procedures for the noise walls. Voting will not occur at the meeting. Following the meeting, a ballot will be mailed out to residents in the area benefited by the proposed noise walls.
