NCDOT to do Nightly Roadwork on I-85 in Rowan County

Raleigh-N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will be performing nightly survey work with ground penetrating radar on I-85 near the Town of Salisbury in Rowan County on March 9-10 from 12-6 a.m. The work will require the closure of three of the five southbound lanes each night between mile markers 76 and 75 (West Innes Street and Jake Alexander Boulevard.) Crews will close the three outside lanes of I-85 South Monday night and the three inside lanes Tuesday night. The closures will take place between 12-6 a.m.This is a continuation of work done last summer to try to determine why some of the concrete is settling and cracking.NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.For real-time travel information at any time, call 511, visit the Traveler Services section of the NCDOT website or follow NCDOT on Twitter.
