RALEIGH-TheN.C. Department of Transportationwill hold an informalpublic meetingon Monday, June 29, regarding proposed storm drain improvements on Russell Street from Gillespie Street to Cross Creek Street in Fayetteville.
This proposed project would replace approximately 900 feet of storm drainage pipe and improve future storm drainage. After the roadway settled in numerous locations along the route, crews investigated the area. They found the existing storm drain on Russell Street in Fayetteville was failing, and the terracotta pipe material was distorted with extensive cracking.
This work will also affect a number ofnearbybusinesses.
The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Old County Courthouse in Hearing Room #3 on the second floor at 130 Gillespie Street in Fayetteville.
NCDOT representatives will be available during the open-house style setting to provide information, answer questions and collect comments regarding the proposed project. Citizens are welcome to attend at any time during the meeting hours, as there will not be a formal presentation. Public comments will also be accepted through July 12.
