Resurfacing of Capital Boulevard Bridge at Peace Street Planned for Saturday

RALEIGH -Motorists who travel on northbound Capital Boulevard over the 67-year-old Peace Street bridge in downtown Raleigh will soon be getting a smoother ride. The roadway section and the approaches to the bridge are scheduled to be milled and resurfaced this Saturday, Sept. 12.The work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., and should be done by early afternoon. For the safety of the paving crew, alternating single lanes closures will be in effect. Motorists should expect delays and may want to seek an alternate route.NCDOT reminds drivers to watch for construction signs, slow down and stay extra alert in the work zone.
