Ride North Carolina's Amtrak to
the Day Out With Thomas event featuring the famed Thomas the Tank Engine and
his friend Percy at the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer Sept. 25-27 and
Oct. 2-4. The train arrives at the
Salisbury depot where a free trolley is waiting to greet passengers and take
them to the museum. Day Out With Thomas offers aspiring engineers and their
families the unique opportunity to take a ride with the classic storybook engine,
Thomas the Tank Engine at regional heritage railroads across the country. For

From Raleigh: Weekend: Take the morning (7 a.m.) Piedmont 73 train with stops at Cary,
Durham, Burlington, Greensboro, and High Point, arriving in Salisbury at 9:23
Take the morning (6:45 a.m.) Piedmont 73
train with stops at Cary, Durham, Burlington, Greensboro, and High Point,
arriving in Salisbury at 9:08 a.m.
From Charlotte: Take the morning (7 a.m.) Carolinian 80 train with a stop in Kannapolis before arriving in
Salisbury at 7:43 a.m.
To Raleigh: Take the mid-day (12:41 p.m.) Piedmont 74 or the evening
(5:56 p.m.) Piedmont 76 train from
the Salisbury station with stops at High Point, Greensboro, Burlington, Durham,
Cary and Raleigh.
To Charlotte: Take the mid-day (2:08 p.m.) Piedmont 75 train from the Salisbury station with stops in
Kannapolis and Charlotte.
