RALEIGH- The N.C. Department of Transportationwill hold an informalpublic meetingon Thursday,Oct. 22, about proposed improvements to Main Street/Broadway Road from Horner Boulevard to East Harrington Avenue in Broadway in Lee County.
Theproject would increase traffic capacity and safety bywidening Broadway Road to multi-lanes from Sanford to Broadway and adding turn-lanes at several intersections and a sidewalk on one side. The project will begin at the intersection of Horner Boulevard in Sanford and will end at the intersection of East Harrington Avenue in Broadway.
The meeting will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. atShallow Well United Christian Church at 1220 Broadway Road in Sanford.

NC Transportation representatives will be available during the open-house style setting to provide information, answer questions and collect comments regarding the proposed project. Citizens are welcome to attend at any time during the meeting hours, as there will not be a formal presentation. Public comments will also be accepted through October 15.
