Bridges for a Brighter Future
invites all middle and high schools to participate in what has become an
exciting, yet competitive event at the department -- the 17th Annual Statewide
Model Bridge Building Competition. The competition is designed to create a
greater awareness of STEM education and its relationship to transportation
careers provided by NCDOT. The registration deadline is November 20, 2015.
Watch for Me NC 2015 Campaign Wrap Up
Tennyson this week met with law enforcement officers, bike and pedestrian
advocates and other leaders in Durham to celebrate the 2015 Watch for Me N.C.
Art Contest Call for Entries
that time again! The N.C. Department of Transportation is seeking entries for
the 2016 North Carolina Aviation Art Contest. This year's theme is Air Sports
in Harmony with Nature. Kids are encouraged to explore the unique ways in which
air sports enthusiasts experience and interact with nature.
Fall Litter Sweep Results
numbers are in for the 2015 Fall Litter Sweep. This season's litter removal
campaign resulted in 1.1 million pounds of trash removed from our state's
roadways. In total, 3.15 million pounds of trash were removed during 2015.
