Raleigh - Repair work by the N.C. Department of Transportation for the Neills Creek Bridge on U.S. 401 north of will close the bridge from 6 a.m. Saturday, July 23, to 5 p.m. Friday, July 29.
Crews will perform routine repairs to steel beams due to conditions noted at a recent biennial bridge inspection. These repairs include cleaning, painting and lifting of the bridge deck.
Northbound U.S. 401 traffic will be detoured onto N.C. 210 and then Harnett-Central Road until it goes back to U.S. 401 north of the bridge site. Southbound traffic will be directed onto Harnett-Central Road and N.C. 210 until it intersects with U.S. 401/421/N.C. 27 in Lillington.
