Road not likely to reopen before mid to late September
Raleigh - N.C. Department of Transportation officials have determined that flash flooding overwhelmed a 72" culvert on Glenn Road in Durham, totally washing it out Sunday evening, July 31.
The road is currently closed between Glen School Road and East Club Road. It will likely remain closed through mid to late September. Bridge maintenance crews with NCDOT will replace the culvert. The department's Hydraulics unit is currently on the scene to determine the size needed for the replacement culvert.
Motorists should take Glenn Road to East Club Boulevard to access I-85 North to Red Mill Road.
