Asheville - The N.C. Department of Transportation has closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near exit 150 in Rocky Mount due to a crash.
The transportation department and local law officials are investigating the incident at the scene. Preliminary reports indicate that the freeway will re-open around 9 a.m.
Motorists are advised to follow instructions of local enforcement officials for a detour of the area. The detour involves drivers taking Exit 150 and going right at the bottom of the ramp. The next step is to follow N.C. 33 West to N.C. 48 South and turn left. Then take N.C. 48 South to N.C. 4 South and go right and follow that to re-access I-95 at exit 145.
All motorists are asked to obey speed limit signs and drive with caution in work zones and areas under investigation.
