Bridge replacement project over South Fork Crooked Creek is wrapping upCharlotte
- A portion of Indian Trail Road over South Fork Crooked Creek is scheduled to open Saturday, Nov. 19, as a bridge replacement project nears completion.
The bridge has been under construction since June 27, with motorists following a detour route along Indian Trail Road, Old Monroe Road and Southfork Road. A temporary traffic signal at the intersection of Old Monroe Road and Southfork Road will remain in flash mode up to 7 days after the bridge opens to traffic, then will be removed.
This project is part of NCDOT's program to rehabilitate and replace bridges across the states. The budget signed by Governor McCrory last year provided more than $450 million over two years to improve the state's bridges.
