Kernersville Welcomes New Driver License Examiner to DMV Office

Raleigh - Customers of the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles can look forward to reduced wait times and improved customer service when new graduates of NCDMV's Basic Examiner Training School begin work this week. One graduate, Bryant Miller is beginning work at the local office.

Miller is one of 17 examiners graduating after four weeks of intensive classroom study at the N.C. Justice Academy in Salemburg and another eight weeks of practical home-office experience. Once at their duty stations, examiners will process applications for learner permits, driver licenses and identification cards using modernized systems that create counterfeit-proof documents that protect against identity theft. They also conduct road tests for new drivers.

"These new examiners are an essential component of Governor Pat McCrory's 'Driving Change' initiative," said Transportation Secretary Nick Tennyson. "We are happy to bring them on board because they will help us better serve our customers and decrease wait times at our DMV offices."
