Closure Needed to Install a Dynamic Message Sign
Wilmington - Drivers in Jacksonville will soon have advance warning of any local travel issues that could impact their commute. The Department of Transportation will install a dynamic message sign (DMS) on Western Boulevard/N.C. 53 between the Western Parkway and Gateway North intersection and Henderson Extension on Tuesday, Aug. 23. The installation will require the temporary closure of the right westbound lane on Western Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The DMS sign will notify the public of major incidents, closures and emergencies.
During the closure, motorists are advised to use caution while traveling in the area and to expect possible delays. State officials remind motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
