Raleigh - N.C. Department of Transportation crews are working to repair a damaged bridge on I-85 South in Gaston County, east of Belmont, near Mile Markers 27 to 26. The bridge is near the Gaston-Mecklenburg County line and close to N.C. 273.
NCDOT officials say that two of the five lanes will be closed during the repairs, which are expected to last until 4:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, Aug, 2). There is a pothole in the bridge. It is not known how the bridge came to be damaged.
