Lanes on a Portion of U.S. 52 to Close Starting This Weekend For Removal of Railroad Bridge in Forsyth County

Winston-Salem - Contractor crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of U.S. 52 between U.S.421/I-40 Business and I-40 starting Sunday night to remove the existing railroad bridge as part of work being done on the Salem Creek Connector Improvement Project.

Southbound work will take place nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Sunday, July 10, until Wednesday, July 13.

Northbound work will follow at the same time from Wednesday, July 13, until Saturday, July 16.

During the work, motorists will detour around the southbound closure using I-40 Business West and Peters Creek Parkway; and the northbound closure using I-40 Business East and Peters Creek Parkway.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
