Raleigh - N.C. Department of Transportation Secretary Nick Tennyson presented the National Roadside Vegetation Management Association's (NRVMA) Turney Hernandez Award of Excellence to Division One Roadside Environmental Engineer Pat Mansfield at the monthly Board of Transportation meeting on Thursday, Dec. 1, in Raleigh.
Each year the association awards its highest honor to outstanding roadside vegetation management programs or individuals throughout the country. Mansfield was recognized for her dedication and success in continuing to promote the ideals of vegetation management.
Division One consists of 14 counties in the northeastern part of the state: Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hyde, Hertford, Martin, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrell and Washington.
NRVMA is an educational, non-profit organization dedicated to providing expertise, solutions and networking opportunities to personnel involved in integrated roadside vegetation management.
